Relics is an unusual urban fantasy with interesting characters, and a different take on some of the usual fantasy tropes. Thulu and La Fi are married private investigators in San Francisco whose only clients are ghosts. Thulu is a "finder" while La Fi can see and communicate with the dead as easily as with the living. In fact, she seems to prefer it! When they take on what seems like a routine assignment, they find themselves involved with beings who can open portals to many different worlds, and end up fighting to save the Earth from negative forces.

Wilson uses magic to explore the interface between normal reality and the land beyond the veil, with interesting results. I enjoyed her characters, especially the ghosts, who play important roles in the plot. The ghost dog was particularly enchanting.

This is the first in a series, but it felt complete. Highly recommended for lovers of ghost stories, urban fantasy, and the metaphysical.

This book was just a great read for me. I was hooked by the 3rd or 4th page. It's one of those that are hard to put down, found myself saying just a few more pages a lot of nights. I'm new to this genre but am very intrigued and eagerly await the next books in the series. Even though this book contains supernatural characters and events, it is not a horror story. If you're looking for a good adventure tale with a twist of mystery, lots of fantasy elements, and great characters then this is a must read.
This book sounded interesting and I ordered it for a road trip I was taking. I could not put the book down! About 10 years ago I was an avid reader. I read a lot of Stephen King and Dean Koontz. This book has the same well thought story line; a good versus evil story with a major twist!! The book has an interesting concept, great well developed characters and a fabulous plot. Love the ghost dog!! Rio is a great character as well. I would love to see this book developed into a television series! I cannot wait for the next book to come out to see what the characters get into next!! Well done book Maer Wilson!!
I heard of this book through the grapevine, and when I read it I just loved the characters and the unorthodox take on some traditional fictional things authors write about.(Ghosts for instance.) It was so refreshing to see a completely different take on these things, not the same old plot and character development you see in popular fiction today that is like seeing a dead horse beaten when you see it over and over used the same way.

I loved this book so much I started telling people about it and getting them to read Maer's books.

If you are looking for a good read and like fiction with supernatural beings in it, this is the series for you!
It's a good time for Goblins, Fairies, Wayward Ghosts, Demons and maybe Angels when they encounter the supernatural powers of the fantastic heroine, Fione. She has the power to see and communicate with dead people. Her husband, Thulu, is a "finder" and is able to find anybody or anything. This couple is able to solve the mysteries and problems of their clients, who happen to be deceased.

The novel is extremely well written. It is entertaining, intriguing, heartfelt and even believable. Ms. Wilson has started a supernatural detective series that will grasp the readers' minds and take them on a journey that goes beyond earth's boundaries. I look forward to reading all the books in the series. Relics is definetely a five star beginning.
Relics by Maer Wilson, beautiful writing style, she has the ability to catch your attention and hold it. Love the concept of her books and novelettes, two detectives work to help ghosts solve problems / find items before they can move on. Thulu and LaFi are brilliant characters that always have some witty comeback and work well together to solve the issues and keep their abilities a secret from the living. This Maer's first book and the way she writes makes it seem like its her second nature. Amazing job Maer, and keep the books coming!!
I read all of the Magic books. I started with the Ghost Books and worked thru the rest of the series. Cried a few times and laughed quite a few times.
I haven't checked to see if there's any more. But be assured if there's anymore, I plan on reading them.
They are full of fun and what life is all about!

Relics is a wonderful modern fantasy about paranormal abilities and a close, open-minded family that embraces everyone's talents. This book is not only an enjoyable page turner, but will have you questioning your notions of good vs evil. It does not have any vampires or werewolves, and is very different from the dark fantasy that is common these days. It is more like traditional fantasy in a modern setting, with heroes, some quite unlikely, coming together to fight a common enemy. The book stays fairly upbeat even in the face of tragedy.
